What Every Christian Mom Needs to Hear This Mother’s Day

Kim Dolan Leto and her mother Lily Dolan recording a Christian Mother’s Day podcast episode about faith, motherhood, and encouragement for Christian moms.

Happy Mother’s Day, Sweet Friend,

This week, I sat down with my mom, Lily Dolan, to talk about what every Christian Mom needs to hear this Mother’s Day. And wow, this conversation was real, raw, and full of God’s love.

This one’s for you—whether you’re in the thick of diapers and dishes, navigating teenage emotions, praying for a prodigal, or healing from your own mother wounds

We talked about:

  • What to do when you feel like you’re failing as a Christian mom
  • Prayers my mom prayed over me—and how God answered them years later
  • How to keep your faith strong when motherhood feels lonely or overwhelming
  • What purpose looks like for Christian moms as they age
  • What I’d say to my younger self at the start of my faith and fitness journey

If you’ve been searching for biblical encouragement for Christian moms, or you’ve been Googling “Mother’s Day Scriptures for Christian Moms,” you’re in the right place.

I want you to take these verses to heart. Write them on sticky notes, save them in your phone, speak them out loud. These are reminders that God sees you and is with you, Dear Christian Mom!

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
You don’t have to fear the future. You’re walking with the One who holds it.

“He gently leads those that have young.”
God isn’t demanding perfection—He’s gently guiding you.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”
Motherhood is not only hard work—it’s holy work.

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you…”
When you need comfort, run to the One who created it.

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!”
If you’re believing God for your family, hold tight to this promise.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
The seeds you’re planting matter—even if the harvest hasn’t come yet.

“On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.”
God hears your prayers. He answers with strength.

On this week’s episode of Strong. Confident. His., I invited my mom, Lily Dolan, on the podcast. We had an honest, grace-filled conversation about the real struggles and joys of motherhood.

We talked about:

  • The hardest seasons of motherhood
  • How her prayers shaped my life
  • What she would do differently and what she’d do the same
  • What God is doing in her life now that gives her purpose in her 70s

She also turned the tables and asked me:

  • How her example shaped my faith
  • How I deal with the pressure to do it all
  • What I’d tell my younger self when I was just starting my health and faith journey

If you’ve ever questioned if you’re doing enough… if you’ve felt unseen or weary… this episode will remind you that you are not alone.

Dear God,
I lift up every mom reading this. Whether she feels unseen, overwhelmed, or just tired—would You meet her right now? Strengthen her, comfort her, and remind her that she’s doing important, holy work. Thank You for her heart, her sacrifice, and her desire to follow You in her motherhood.
In Jesus’ name,
amen.

Before You Go…

Whether this Mother’s Day is joyful or filled with mixed emotions, I want you to know this: You are loved. You are not failing. You are faithful. And God sees every sacrifice, every prayer, and every moment of love you give.

If you’re looking for encouragement, go listen to this week’s podcast episode. It will bless you.
