I remember being told, you’re fine – your labs look normal, but I felt everything but fine! If you’re a Christian woman in your 40s or 50s feeling tired, foggy, emotional, or struggling with stubborn weight gain—yet being told everything looks “normal”—you’re not alone.
So many women walk into doctor’s offices describing these symptoms, only to be told, “That’s just aging,” or “Your labs are fine.” But deep down, you know something isn’t right. And it’s time someone listened.
This blog is here to offer real menopause and hormone help for Christian women—not just from a physical or medical standpoint, but through the lens of faith.
In this season, it’s easy to feel overlooked or confused, especially when your body feels like it’s working against you. But God sees you. He cares about every part of you. And He wants to guide you to the wisdom, healing, and peace your heart longs for.
Let’s begin with our foundational Scriptures for menopause and hormone help for Christian women:
“Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” — Proverbs 4:7
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.” — Psalm 138:3 (NKJV)
God wants us to get wisdom and understanding—and be bold in His strength, because He is with us in this!
Before we dive in, I want to share this message from Susie, a student inside the Fit God’s Way 30-Day Transformation course:

What’s Happening in Your Body Right Now? Menopause and Hormone Help for Christian Women
Here are the real reasons you might feel:
- Exhausted all day but wired at night
- Stuck at the same weight no matter what you do
- Forgetful, foggy, or unmotivated
- Emotionally fragile and not like yourself
Estrogen and Progesterone Are Declining
We covered this in Part 1: these hormones don’t just regulate your cycle—they affect mood, sleep, metabolism, inflammation, and more.

Cortisol Is Taking Over
Without estrogen’s calming effect, your nervous system can stay stuck in fight-or-flight mode. For example, I used to thrive on HIIT workouts—but once I hit perimenopause, those workouts left me anxious and unable to sleep. I had to change my training style, implement morning and nighttime routines, and start prioritizing rest.
Thyroid May Be Slowing
Many women experience undiagnosed hypothyroidism during menopause. The symptoms mimic menopause and can be missed without the right tests.
Friend, God promises to give us wisdom when we ask. You’re not powerless. You can speak up, seek answers, and steward your health with His strength and confidence!
— James 1:5

What About Hormone Therapy?
When my labs showed zero estrogen and progesterone, I tried bioidentical hormone cream. But I didn’t feel like myself on it. After prayer and discussion with my doctor, I transitioned off it with oral progesterone.
Some women thrive on HRT. Others don’t. There’s no shame either way. What matters is making an informed, prayerful decision.

What About That WHI HRT Study?
You may have heard that hormone therapy (HRT) causes breast cancer or heart disease. That fear traces back to the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study—but there’s more to the story, and it’s important that you have the full picture.
Here’s what really happened—and what we know now.
What Went Wrong in the Original WHI Study?
- The women were older — The average age was 63, and many were more than 10 years postmenopause.
- The hormones were synthetic — The study used conjugated equine estrogen (from horse urine) and medroxyprogesterone acetate, not bioidentical hormones.
- The risks were overblown by the media — Fear spread quickly, and many women quit HRT overnight. But the actual risk increases were very small.
What We Know Now:
- Modern HRT uses bioidentical hormones that are molecularly identical to those your body produces.
- Lower doses and safer delivery methods like patches and creams are now widely used.
- Timing matters — Hormone therapy is considered safest and most effective when started before age 60 or within 10 years of menopause.
The right therapy, at the right time, in the right form—under a doctor’s care—can be a helpful tool for many women navigating menopause.

A Faith-Based Perspective
Sister, needing help doesn’t make you weak—and choosing not to seek it doesn’t make you more holy.
God isn’t measuring your worth by how well you hold it all together. He’s inviting you to walk through this season with Him—honestly, humbly, and prayerfully.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault…” — James 1:5
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to menopause and hormone help for Christian women. Just wisdom, prayer, and grace for the journey.
Let’s remember: God will give us wisdom when we ask. And in getting wisdom, we also gain understanding. He has made us bold with strength in our soul.
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” — Proverbs 4:7
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.” — Psalm 138:3 (NKJV)

Prayer for Strength, Wisdom, and Peace in Menopause
Dear God,
Thank You for never leaving me—not in this season of change, confusion, or weariness. You see every part of me, even the parts I don’t understand. When my body feels unfamiliar, when my emotions feel overwhelming, and when I feel tired in every way, remind me that I’m not broken—I’m being renewed.
Lord, give me the wisdom I need to care for my health. Show me the next right step. Lead me to the right providers, the right answers, and the right support. Help me steward my body with grace and not guilt. Teach me how to listen to what it needs without shame. Let Your Word guide my choices and give peace to my heart.
Father, I surrender the pressure, the frustration, the fear—and I trade them for Your strength. Strength in my soul. Strength in my body. Strength in my mind. Thank You that I don’t walk this road alone. You are my healer, my counselor, my peace.
I trust You in this, Lord. Even here, You are good.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

FAQ: Menopause & Hormone Help for Christian Women
Q: What tests should I ask my doctor for during menopause?
A: Ask for a full hormone panel including estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone; a complete thyroid panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, thyroid antibodies); cortisol testing; and metabolic labs like insulin, A1C, cholesterol, and hs-CRP. These tests provide a clearer picture than standard labs.
Q: What if my labs are “normal,” but I still feel off?

A: Yes. There is no shame in exploring HRT through prayer and medical wisdom. Every woman is different. Seek a provider who honors your faith, listens well, and helps you make an informed decision that brings peace, not pressure.
Q: What does the Bible say about getting help for menopause?
A: Scripture reminds us to ask for wisdom and trust that God will guide us. He sees your struggle and will strengthen you. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God…” (James 1:5)
